Within a very short span of time India has registered phenomenal growth in producing profes-
sionals of international standard. This has been all possible because of continuous drive by different
agencies engaged in this field to standardize our examination system. CBSE is one such organization
that conducts entrance examination for all NIT's and some reputed and selected Engineering colleges of
our country together with engineering colleges of different states including BIT Mesra. These Engi-
neering Colleges are considered as the second liner to IIT's. Every engineering aspirant wishes to make
it to NIT and for that matter every reputed engineering colleges prefer selection selection through CBSE .
The entrance test for such colleges is not that tough. Strategic and methodical preparation under pro-
ficient guidance ensures an aspirant to reach the target. The clarity of the student is determined through
the examination process, which is different than the usual career examination. The questions of the test
carry 60 tough MCQ questions in each subject of Physics Chemistry and Mathematics These questions
have to be answered within two stipulated hours. The most important part of these tests are that the
questions are tough and unpredictable. The trend and style of the question take frequent changes and
are not confined to any specific book and study materials and also they don't form a verbatim reproduc-
tion of text books.
The syllabus adopted to test the analytical ability of the student by CBSE has shown
that the +2 Science students of CHSE, Orissa face difficulties in adopting themselves to the syllabus.
Preparation like mechanical memorization of the text in no way helps an aspirant to secure desired rank
in the test. An aspirant to reach his dream destination has to under go a special type of orientation so
as to develop his/her creative ability, conceptual clarity, thinking process and definite planning. Be-
sides all these an aspirant has to have hard practice & profession al guidance to make sure of his
success. Selection of books, study materials, core group of teachers and above all a coaching centre
play a pivotal role in his attempt to get through this tough test with a spectacular performance.
