It is the dream of the parent
to see their children launch their career as a professional. Among
all the lucrative and sought –after career, Engineering or
Medical stands with a difference. The dream of the students, hope
and expectation of parents come true when one qualifies in any entrance
examination conducts by various examination bodies. The
entrance examination for AIEEE, JEE (E & M) generally falls in
the month of May after the +2Sc final examination. Recently the
pattern of O-JEE exam is changed. The examination is conducted in
one day. MCQ’S in each from Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics
in two sitting. Negative marking is also introduced. So each
question is to be answered in less than 2 minutes correctly makes
the test tough to qualify. CBSC is conducting an entrance
examination in the name of ALL INDIA ENGINEERING ENTRANCE
EXAMINATION (AIEEE) for some selected Engineering colleges of
India, even students are selected for some important college like
NIT Hamipur and BIT Meshra from AIEEE. The test is conducted in
one day with two sitting. In 1st sitting 150 MCQ’S
are asked from physics & chemistry to answer in 2.30 hrs and
in 2nd sitting 75 MCQ’S are asked from mathematics to
answer in 1.15 minute correctly. The most important features of
the entrance test are the unpredictable trend and style in
question paper, frequent changes in the trend every year,
answering in less time and the type of question asked are such
that they never permit the students to be confined to any specific
books / materials, as the question asked are do not form, the
verbatim reproduction of the books. Hence a student’s own
ability and clarification of concepts can only be instrumental to
get through the exams. The preparation should not be the
mechanical memorization of problems and solution from different
books. It should be the development of the creative ability to
apply the knowledge in time and
in practical field up conceptual clarity, well structured
plan of studies, hard practice and professional guidance --- all
these factors count in one’s success in the competition.
Selection of books and materials, peer groups and a good coaching
institution matter much for preparation.
